Student Ambassadors

What are student ambassadors?

Thompson Student Ambassadors are involved in a variety of student led programs.  They support school-wide initiatives such as anti-bullying and creating a sense of school community.

How do I become a student ambassador?

Any student who has a desire to volunteer to serve their school in a positive manner can become a student ambassador.  Homerooms will elect one person in each homeroom from students in that class who are interested in serving.

Requirements: Student should be in good academic standing and maintain at least a ‘B’ average.  Must be able to make up any work that is missed during the meeting time. Candidate should be willing to share input and needs to be able to communicate information with his/her homeroom.  Students applying should be responsible and dependable.

Who sponsors student ambassadors?

Your school counselors, Tisha Henderson, Frank Stello and Terri Cox

How much time do I have to commit if I want to be an ambassador?

Students volunteer  based on what they are willing to give.  It can be as little as one activity or as much as being a morning greeter every morning.  As long as students are a positive representative of our school we welcome their service.  They will report service activities and schoolwide programs to their homeroom class.

How will I be contacted for service?  We will have monthly meetings during acceleration.  In addition, one student in each grade level will be selected to meet with the counselors in a seperate leadership meeting.  Students will be contacted also by email to communicate about upcoming activities.
